October also brought me closer to my goal of reading 50 books. I am participating in my local library's 50 Book Challenge again this year. Right now, I've read 47 books this year. With two more months left in the year, I should be able to easily meet my goal and even go past it. Two of my books this month were from our history studies - we had been reading them for weeks and finished them in October.

Okay, I am so sitting here at my laptop laughing out loud -- to the point that Megan asked, "What? Something on the Internet?"
That first book you listed, "Ravished by a Highlander," sounded like my kind of book -- I love historical romance, especially when it's set in the Scottish Highlands, but I thought, "Surely not."
I had you pegged as a more serious reading kind of gal. So I clicked the link. I just sat here and had me a good ol' chuckle. It was exactly what it sounded like and I was so glad not to feel so alone in my love of a good historical romance. ;-) I'll have to see if I can find a copy of that one at my favorite used book store.
Just finished "The Art of Racing in the Rain" by Garth Stein. Tale told from dog's perspective - awesome. Have you read "The Last Lecture?" Randy Pausch - very touching. Currently reading "Olive Ketteridge." Maybe we'll see you at CSU next weekend? Thought I'd catch up by looking at your very interesting, fun filled blog! Take care, Chris
Chris,
Thanks for the book recommendations. I haven't read any of them. We won't be at Braun - we decided not to go through the hassle of deck entering. Good to hear from you!
